- Please note that access to the apartment is via some steep stairs so it is not suitable for elderly or very young visitors.
- On the top floor you will find an open space, featuring traditional slanted ceilings with exposed beams, a double bed and another double bed in an alcove. Please note that there are no doors, therefore privacy is limited. The bathroom contains a bath, shower, washbasin and toilet.
Located behind the Northern Church, known locally as the Noordekerk the apartment sits in the picturesque Jordaan area of the city close by Central Station. This close proximity means it is ideal for families with lots of luggage and getting to the airport is of course also very easy.
The Jordaan area itself is fascinating. Marvel at the 18th century canal warehouses and townhouses leaning out over the canals, crooked roof tops and windows – the setting is like something out of a fairy tale. This is quintessential Amsterdam at its prettiest.
Dam Square is just minutes away. The very centre of the city, it’s a great place to enjoy a coffee and watch the world go by. You can also witness some excellent street theatre including magicians, escapologists and of course the many human statues that litter the square.
Be sure to visit the market square outside the Noordekerk on a Monday morning when you will find a very busy second-hand market. There are antique stalls, furniture and second hand clothes for sale, toys, bric-a-brac, books, war memorabilia and lots more to discover.
Positives: Excellent location in a lively neighborhood, within walking distance to the Centrum in Amsterdam. Overall clean apartment, the owner hired cleaning staff to do the work. The apartment looks a bit older and smaller than the picture depicted but it wasn't a huge problem for us. Bonus: I have to give the owner a big plus for letting us stay for another half day free of charge! Improvement: Steep and shadow staircase even for youngsters could be a challenge as two of us had bruises just walking up/down.. Only one bathroom and shower in the entire apartment, and the stall is positioned relatively higher than in the States. Also, there was mouse in the house, and one night our food was eaten. Owner does impose a 3% extra credit card charge for payment on premise (this is in addition to your typical foreign exchange charge) that was a bit disappointing. - JLJINXIU - Date: 23-06-2018
The apartment in the Jordaan was just perfect for us. The owner was extremely helpful and couldn't do enough for us - she'd made a book with all the local information - where to eat, shop etc - that was in the apartment when we arrived. The apartment was extremely comfortable and a lovely place to return to after a busy day's sight-seeing!Jane - Date: 10-02-2014

The location of the apartment is great. However it is a bit noisy at night because there are 3 Pubs right next to the apartment. A big supermarket is about 400m away.Margit - Date: 17-05-2012

Short Stay Apartments provide the perfect accommodation solution when travelling with children. It was wonderful to have the space of an apartment instead of being crammed into a hotel room.Jane - Date: 24-04-2012
