The 9 streets are fantastic for shopping, eating and drinking while the Anne Frank House will tell you the story about a young Jewish girl who hid from the Germans during the Second World War but who was eventually deported with her family. A tram stop is located just a few meters from the apartment, taking you to central station in a matter of minutes.

The Dam Square is close by. This square in the heart of the historical city of Amsterdam offers you great entertainment in the form of historical buildings like the Royal Palace and the prestigious Krasnapolsky Hotel. The Royal Palace now belongs to the Dutch Royal family but was once the city hall of Amsterdam built in the 17th century. When the weather is nice many locals and tourists come here to taste the typical atmosphere of Amsterdam. You can watch the street performers, feed the pigeons or even walk to the memorial. Every year on the 4th of May the Dutch commemorate the people who lost their lives during the Second World War at this memorial.

 

Amsterdam has many museums from cultural museums like the Van Gogh museum to the Rijksmuseum with the Night Watch as Rembrandt’s masterpiece or popular museums like the Tattoo or the Sex or Erotic museum. This last museum is located on the Wallen in the Red Light district.
