The fully equipped kitchen contains everything required for preparing meals at home. The bedroom at the back of the apartment contains two comfortable single beds. The apartment lies in what is known as the Plantage District, a largely residential area situated south-east of central Amsterdam developed during the 19th century with money made mostly from the cities diamond trade. Today the district is a peaceful, attractive, green neighbourhood with beautiful architecture and tree lined streets. Several of the cities attractions are nearby including the old city zoo Artis, the Hollandsche Schouwburg, the Tropen Museum and the Hortus Botanicus (botanical gardens). There are some fantastic bars, cafés and restaurants to be found in the area and Rembrandt Square in the city centre is just 15 minutes away on Tram 9.
