The charming area of De Pijp is known for its diversified nature. With the ever-busy Albert Cuyp Markt found along Governt Flinckstraat on the one hand and the blissful Sarphatipark on the other, the district is made up of many contrasts, which adds to the excitement for all the visitors lucky enough to get there.
To make sure that you start your day right, head east to the picturesque riverside of Amstel and enjoy a cup of coffee at any of the local eating establishments or cafés, e.g. Le Hollandais, Ctaste or Aan de Amstel (found across the river). Once you’re all charged up, head north-west and make your way through the tranquil Sarphatipark to the lively highlight of the area – Albert Cuyp Markt, which always offers an excellent choice of most diverse products, ranging from food, through clothes to electronics. And after a challenging visit to the market, take a well-deserved glass of beer at Marie Heinekenplein, found a bit further to the north-west; this is also where the magical Heineken Experience is located.
Now, if you proceed to the north, you’ll soon get to the heart of Amsterdam and be able to admire all the major sights, including Oude Kerk, Dam Square or Begijnhof, but if you decide to go west, you’ll reach the absolutely astonishing Museumplein, where places like Van Gogh Museum, Stedelijk Museum or House of Bols will await you to appreciate their awesome collections and exhibits.
I stayed in Amsterdam apartments for one week. Excellent location, you have all that you need in two minutes walk by foot (supermarket, restraunts, coffee, coffeeshop). Also you can get to the city center in 30 minutes walk by foot just walking straight and then to the right. The most pleasant was the thing that when we arrived there were everything to start live in there: shampoo, shower gel, gel for washing dishes, etc. Thank you so much for our holiday!Natalya - Date: 14-07-2017
