Get a taste of this former shipping industry district and visit the Werkspoormuseum that is next door to the apartment and go to the nearby Scheepvaartmuseum for the replica of the ‘Amsterdam’ cargo ship that the Dutch East India Company used. Just across the water is the Plantage district which is home to Artis Zoo and Hollandsche Schouwburg. Enjoy a whole day out at the zoo and return to your holiday apartment to freshen up and eat before you jump on the nearby tram for nights out at Leidse Square. There are buses that run right outside of the apartment and can take you within minutes to Amsterdam Centraal for links to Schiphol Airport, and to the Dam Square and Red Light District areas for much day and night entertainment.
