The city zoo Artis is just over a ten minute walk away and near it is Hortus Botanicus, Verzetsmuseum and the Hollandsche Schouwburg. The bus that runs past the apartment can take you within minutes to Dam Square, the Red Light District and China Town where you can spend every day exploring, shopping, eating and drinking; Amsterdam Centraal is in that area also and from there you can catch a quick train to Schiphol Airport. Trams from around the corner will take you to the popular Leidse Square, the Rijksmuseum on Museum Square and the rest of the southern canal belt.
