The Amsterdam maritime museum, Het Scheepvaartmuseum, is also set inside such a building; you can walk to this museum in a matter of minutes and on the water alongside it is a large cargo ship replica of a ship called Amsterdam. There is a canal floating by across the road from this Amsterdam holiday apartment and if you cross the canal you will find yourself in the popular Plantage district, followed by the Canal Belt. Plantage is a place for all ages as it plays home to Artis Zoo, Hortus Botanical Gardens, the Jewish Cultural Quarter, Hermitage Amsterdam and the Royal Theatre Carre. Down the road from the apartment is a bus station with regular buses to Amsterdam Centraal and the Red Light District area.
