The city’s cultural and entertainment hot spots are literally just minutes away whilst the beautiful Westerpark is also just a short stride to the west.
Amsterdam has nearly 60 museums to visit. Highly recommended is the Amsterdam Museum which was recently completely renovated and today provides a fully interactive and fascinating glimpse into the city’s past, present and future.
Museum Square, located to the south of the city centre is a must for art buffs. Take your pick from the Van Gogh Museum, Rijksmuseum or the Stedelijk. Meanwhile fans of all things sparkly will adore a tour around the Diamond Museum also located in the square.
The city’s Leidseplein and Rembrandtplein entertainment areas are extremely popular for those wishing to explore the city’s nightlife opportunities. They are also a great place to enjoy a frothy Dutch beer during the day time – a perfect break from shopping and sightseeing!
For independent and unusual shopping items be sure to visit Nine Streets area. There are lots of fine boutiques, stores and cafes here selling things you are unlikely to find anywhere else including lots of handmade crafts.
There really is no shortage of things to do in this energetic and beautiful city.
