As soon as you step out of the apartment building you have one of Amsterdam’s biggest museums right across the road. Tropenmuseum is a popular anthropological museum so makes an interesting and educational outing for groups of all ages. This area is within East Amsterdam which is also home to a number of other great attractions which are only walking distance away from the apartment. For a stroll amongst the locals try the outdoor market Dappermarkt or the large greenery and ponds at Oosterpark. Locals and tourists alike also enjoy wandering through the grounds of Artis Zoo which is just over ten minutes away. For the big touristy areas you only need to hop on a tram and with two stations very close by you are never too far away; the famous Leidseplein and Dam Square are just over ten minutes away. You could opt for the local’s favourite mode of transport in the city and that’s by renting a two-wheeler and cycling your way through Amsterdam. The city is cycle friendly with designated cycle lanes.
