A bright, cheerful apartment sleeping four people in the centre of Amsterdam, just a few minutes' walk from Central Station.
This contemporary apartment combines the best of modern decor with original features of this classic building, such as high celings and large windows. The living area really benefits from these features, and the entire space is filled with light and air. There's a large comfortable sofa which also converts into a bed for extra guests, and the coffee table makes this a great area to relax with the papers over morning coffee.
The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to create great meals at home, whether it's a quick breakfast on the go or a fancy evening meal with several courses. You can enjoy these meals at the elegant dining table with seating for four. The apartment has one bedroom with two single beds, as well as bedside tables and lamps. The bathroom has a shower and bathtub, ideal for relaxing at the end of a long day. There's also a separate guest toilet.
This location is extremely central but also enjoys the benefits of the water at Oosterdok. Lovely for a walk, this area has been recently redeveloped and has lots of award-winning buildings, such as the Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ, a concert hall for contemporary music. There's plenty of culture in this area - the Amsterdam Architecture Centre has lots of interesting exhibitions and lectures, while the NEMO Science Centre is ideal for families.
There are several theatres, offering standup comedy, drama and music, as well as the Conservatory of Amsterdam, which in addition to classrooms, has performance spaces with a varied programme. There's a range of great restaurants here too, from casual Italian diner Vapiano to Fifteen, a hip eatery on the banks of the river. You can walk to Central Station in under 10 minutes, and from here, you can take trains all over the city and country.
