 If you're visiting Amsterdam for business, you'll find this a great location. Just a few minutes on foot from Central Station, you'll find it easy to reach wherever you need to be in the city or country. The RAI Congress Centre is just 15 minutes away by train and the airport is about 20 minutes away. For tourists, it's also a great place to base yourself. The immediate area is a lovely place to spend some time. Recently redeveloped, there are plenty of apartments, shops and restaurants in the area.

Just a short walk away, however, are the major attractions of the city. Dam Square is home to the Royal Palace, now open to visitors, as well as Madame Tussaud's world-famous wax museum. This area is also known for shopping - you'll find several department stores here. For more unique shopping opportunties, head for the Nine Streets, which is within walking distance of Dam Square. This entire area is also filled with restaurants and just a short walk from home, you'll find Chinatown, with a variety of Asian eateries.
