Once you make sure that the indoor conditions are up to your requirements, focus on the outdoors, as you’re bound to be amazed by the amount of attractions that are there, waiting to be rediscovered and explored.
Starting off with the location, the apartment is found in one of the most exciting districts of Amsterdam – the bohemian-themed, colorful Jordaan. This is where you can delight in getting lost in the thick maze of cobbled alleys lined with friendly cafés, bars, coffee shops and restaurants (including Winkel, Bordewijk, Restaurant Kinnaree, Cinema Paradiso or Claes Claeszhofje, to name only a few) without any sense of worry – the neighborhood is as friendly as it is interesting to tour around.
As for the local landmarks, it’s only enough to leave the door and you’ll be facing the grand Noorderkerk, neighboring the small but delightful Noordermarkt, known for its variety of products on offer. The Central Station is a 15-minute walk to the east, so once you head in that direction you’ll come close to all the must-sees, like the majestic Oude Kerk, the busy Dam Square or the infamous De Wallen. Still, if you take a stroll to the south along Prinsengracht, you will reach the historic Anne Frank House and the fabulous Boathouse Museum, not to mention all the beautiful views over the Canal Belt on your way.
