A charming apartment in a historical building, sleeping up to two people. Located at the Oosterdock, just a few minutes' walk from Central Station.
The combination of the way this apartment is designed and its great location makes it the ideal base for any short stay in Amsterdam, whether it's for business or pleasure. There are large windows in living area, making it feel cheerful and bright, but the design means it also retains an atmosphere of cosiness. The living room has a large, comfortable sofa, the perfect place to relax in front of a movie after a long day at meetings or exploring the city.
The kitchen is compact but well-equipped, with all the elements needed to prepare great meals at home. Whether it's breakfast on the go or a long, chatty meal with friends, the comfortable dining area is a great place to gather. The bedroom is cosy, with exposed beams and beside lighting adding to the ambience. There are two exceptionally comfortable single beds, and a window which ensures lots of light flooding the room. The bathroom has a bathtub as well as a shower for maximum flexibility, and there's a separate guest toilet in the hallway.
The Oosterdok area has undergone plenty of regeneration in recent years and is now home to several award-winning buildings, such as the Muziekgebouw aan't IJ, a concert hall for contemporary classical music built right out over the water. This is now a lovely place to walk and relax, and you'll find lots of good restaurants here, from casual neighbourhood bistros to the imposing Sea Palace chinese restaurant - which resembles an ornate Chinese building floating on the water. In this area, you'll find the Nemo science centre - the biggest in the Netherlands. Popular with families, you'll find fun interactive demonstrations, workshops, theatre performances and exhibitions.
You can walk to the Nieuwmarkt district, which is home to the city's Chinatown and even has a Buddhist temple as well as a range of excellent Asian eateries and shops. You'll also find lots of lively cafes and bars in this area, as well as some interesting buildings. De Waag is a beautiful structure built in the 15th century and formerly the city's Jewish History musuem. Now, it's a charming cafe lit by over 300 candles. Just a short walk away is Central Station, with excellent transport options all over the city and country.
