The Eastern Park Apartment Suite 8 is a luxurious one bedroom apartment located in the Plantage District and is suited for 2 people seeking a stylish accommodation on the edge of the city centre.
This apartment is a lust for the eye. It is designed by the Dutch architect, Renato Perotti. Most of the furniture is white and is beautifully designed like the two sitting chairs and the coffee table in the living area. The sleeping sofa has a light gray color and it does not only have a modern look but it is also comfortable. Take a seat on this sofa and watch cable television on the flat screen or use the DVD player to see the latest films.
The kitchen is open and has an oven, a microwave, a fridge and a dish washer. Use the kettle to boil some water for a cup of tea and drink this while using your laptop on the dining table with four white modern bar tools.
The bedroom comes with two single beds and the large, classy bathroom has a shower, a bathtub and a toilet.
Eastern Park translated in Dutch is Oosterpark. The Oosterpark was the first park in Amsterdam which was designed in 1880 based on English landscape style. In the summer the large grass field is filled with locals who pick nick or play football. Around a large pond there are benches to sit on and to watch the ducks and other birds swimming. Take some old bread with you and feed the birds. Theo Van Gogh, a Dutch writer and novel, ist wrote a critical play about the position of the women in the Islam. In 2004 he was stabbed to death by a Muslim on a street near this park. This event shocked the people in The Netherlands. A sculpture called the Schreeuw or in English the Scream commemorates this murder.
Take tram number 9 and it will take you to the centre part of Amsterdam in 15 minutes. From here you can go by foot to many interesting places in the centre of Amsterdam. Close by is one of the most famous squares in Amsterdam, the Museumplein or the museum square. Several museums are located around this square. If you want to see the famous painting called the Night Watch of Rembrandt then the Rijksmuseum is a must.
Amsterdam has a rich architectural history. The oldest building in Amsterdam is the Oude Kerk or the old church consecrated in 1306. It is located in the oldest part called the Wallen. Wallen means walls in Dutch and these walls used to protect the city in the Middle Ages against intruders.
