The Eastern Park Apartment suite 10 is a luxurious top floor accommodation located in the Plantage District just outside the city centre and is suited for a romantic couple who like luxurious things and also Amsterdam.
This modern and classy apartment was designed by Renato Perotti, a Dutch architect and constructed with the intention of providing a relaxing atmosphere. The living area is stylish with a modern, comfortable sofa and a flat screen and a DVD player. The dining table with designer barstools is in the same area and you can also use this table as a work desk to put your laptop on. Wireless internet is available.
The open plan kitchen has a two pit oven, a microwave, a dish washer and a fridge. A coffee machine and a kettle are available to make a cup of tea or coffee.
The flight of stairs leads to a beautifully designed bedroom with a double bed. The bathroom also has a modern touch to it and it has a shower, a bathtub and a toilet.
This apartment is located on the corner of Oosterpark, Amsterdam’s first park, originally laid out in the 1880s. This park has a large grass field and a pond where you can feed the birds. It also has sculptures and the Slavery monument which commemorates the abolition of slavery in1863 in the Netherlands. A sculpture called the Schreeuw or in English the Scream commemorates the assassination of Theo Van Gogh, a critical Dutch artist and writer who was murdered in 2004 by a Muslim extremist.
The park lies in what is known as the Plantage District, a largely residential area situated south-east of central Amsterdam developed during the 19th century with money made mostly from the cities diamond trade. Today the district is a peaceful, attractive, green neighborhood with beautiful architecture and tree lined streets.
Artis, the zoo of Amsterdam is in this area. This zoo has a romantic touch because it still has many buildings dating back from the 19th century. The Tropenmuseum or the Tropical Museum is an interesting place to visit. It is focused on ethnographic issues from the tropics. The former Dutch colonies like Indonesia and Suriname play an important role in this museum like art from Bali, ancient Hinduism from Java and Bali or the Marron culture in Suriname.
