The design of this apartment is extremely thoughtful and well-executed. It manages to be both relaxed and elegant at the same time, with simple decor giving way to thoughtful touches to create a unique atmosphere. The large living room has beautiful, huge windows that flood the room with light and fresh air. White walls and pale, polished wooden floors create a soothing ambience, while splashes of tasteful colour are added through comfortable sofas and chairs and pretty soft furnishings. Contemporary light fittings and great pieces of art complete the picture for a feeling of relaxed sophistication. The sofa, ideal for decompressing with friends at the end of a long day, also converts into a bed for two guests. The kitchen is not large but is well-equippped with everything you need to create meals at home, and the spacious dining table with seating for four people is ideal for grabbing breakfast on the run or enjoying a formal evening meal. The cosy bedroom has skylights, letting in plenty of sunshine, as well as two single beds for maximium flexibility. The bathroom enjoys a shower as well as a bathtub, allowing you to choose between a quick shower before heading out or a relaxing soak at the end of the day. There's also an extra guest toilet just off the main hallway.

Whether your trip to Amsterdam is for work or leisure, you'll find the location of this apartment is excellent. Oosterdok is the historical dock of Amsterdam, and has undergone considerable regeneration recently. One result of this programme is the Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ, which means "Music Building on the Ij", an impressive concert hall for contemporary classical music which opened in 2005 and has received several prizes for architecture. The area is also home to some great restaurants, serving a variety of Dutch and international cuisine. From casual neighbourhood bistros like Koffiehuis van de Volksbond to the floating Chinese restaurant Sea Palace, there's a wide choice available here. In less than ten minutes, you can walk to Central Station, ideal for fast airport transfers or travelling to other parts of the city or country for meetings. Just beyond Central Station, you''ll find Dam Square, home to the Royal Palace, the former residence of the Dutch Royal family, now open to the public. This area is also known for its shopping, and you'll find lots to keep you busy, including the high-end department store, De Bijenkorf.
