The one bedroom Carre Apartment A-II is located on a canal in the Canal Belt district in the centre part of Amsterdam and is suited for 4 persons who looking for a accommodation overlooking the canals.
This cozy and warm apartment has wooden floors with colorful carpets on it and a ceiling with wooden beams. It has two levels or floors with the living and the open kitchen on the street level overlooking a canal and the Amstel River. In the living there is a sleeping sofa for two and a television set with a DVD player. Cable internet is also available.
The kitchen is at the back of the apartment and has a microwave and a fridge. You can also use the coffee machine and the toaster to make a nice breakfast.
The bedroom with a double bed in on the next level and so is a bathroom with a shower, a single sink and a toilet. The bedroom also has cupboards to stall your belongings.
This apartment is close to the Utrechtsestraat. This street is not popular with tourists but it does have its own unique character with boutiques, restaurants and many small but cozy cafes which are typical Dutch with their brown interior, their dimmed lights and the candles. Many of these pubs have their own small kitchen so sometimes they will serve you a bal gehakt or a meat ball. Many locals eat the meat balls to make it easier to drink beer or a shot of jenever, the Dutch gin. The Amstelveld square is nearby with its flower and antiques market as well as grocery stores making it the ideal place to buy food, drinks and souvenirs to take back home.
Amsterdam plays an important role concerning classic music in The Netherlands. The Concertgebouw is considered by critics to be a concert hall with some of the best acoustics in the world. This concert hall is the home the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. It is one of the best symphony orchestras of the world. Bertand Haitink was once the director of this orchestra.
Amsterdam has many venues for pop and rock concerts. Near the Leidseplein you will find Paradiso. This venue was the place of the hippies and the rock culture of that time. Many famous artists and groups played here like the Rolling Stones. But the biggest venue is the Heineken Music Hall which is located near the Arena, the stadium of Ajax, the football team of Amsterdam.
