The old dock area is now a beautiful place for a stroll, and you'll find plenty of great cafes and restaurants in the area. Try Rosario at Pepperstraat, a 2-minute walk from home, for excellent Italian food and lovely views, or Greetje for a modern take on Dutch classics. You can walk to Central Station from the apartment, making it ideal for airport connections but also should you need to travel slightly further afield for meetings. The RAI Congress Centre is about 15 minutes away by train. Also a short distance away is the famous Red Light District, as well as Chinatown and Dam Square, with its variety of department stores and shopping opportunities. It's difficult to find a better location from which to explore this vibrant city.
