If you’re after some diversity in diversion, look no further. The fantastic district of De Pijp is well known for the variety of cultural experience it offers. After all, it used to be once a home to the artistic-academic bohemia of Amsterdam and later welcomed all walks of life to find their own way to make a living as part of the colourful local community.
To the north of the district you’ll find the ever-exciting Canal Belt lined with shops, eating establishments, cafés, art galleries and many more interesting spots, all nested along charming alleys housing traditional Dutch architecture; a real treat for all those into history and tradition. To the south, in turn, you’ll reach the modern Rivierenbuurt, with its landmark of RAI Amsterdam – a place to visit if you wish to be up to date with all the latest trends in fashion, technology, media and other spheres of life of the contemporary world.
A short walk to the west – to Museumplein, to be more precise – will result in ultimate experience for your eyes, as you’ll be able to admire some of the world’s most amazing art since places like Van Gogh Museum, Rijksmuseum or Stedelijkmuseum are all there, waiting for you. Still, if you wish to discover some local treasures first, make sure to check out the absolutely amazing Albert Cuyp Markt – over 300 stalls of most diverse products waiting with some really good bargains.
