Amsterdam’s Eastern Islands are a trendy place to holiday in. The Oostenburg area that the apartment is in was home to the Dutch East Indies Company and you can see a replica of their cargo ship at the Het Scheepvaartmuseum, which is a short walk away from the apartment. Your self-catering holiday will find the nearby Albert Heijn supermarket and the daily Dapper Market (closed on Sundays) very useful. Walking over the canal that is opposite the apartment building will see you inside the attraction filled Plantage district where you will quickly find the popular city zoo, Artis. Since you are so centrally located it may be handy to rent a bike for the duration of your holiday as getting around may prove quicker and more cost effective. However, there is a regular bus service right outside and a tram service around the corner.
