You will find this Amsterdam holiday apartment in the Oostenburg area of Amsterdam’s Eastern Islands. This was once an industrial area and where the famous Dutch East Indies Company (VOC) had settled. A replica of VOC’s cargo ship called Amsterdam can be found by the nearby Het Scheepvaartmuseum where you can learn about the Dutch maritime history. Walk across the canal that is opposite the apartment and you will find yourself inside Amsterdam’s attraction filled Plantage district; you could even walk to the popular Artis Zoo in ten minutes. Opposite the zoo are Hollandsche Schouwburg and the Verzetsmuseum, with other attractions nearby such as Hortus Botanicus and the Portuguese Synagogue. About a five minute walk from this Amsterdam holiday apartment is a popular daily market (closed on Sundays) called Dapper Market and there you can buy fresh produce and other bits and bots to stock the apartment with. The bus outside the apartment will take you to Amsterdam Centraal in ten minutes.
