You can easily reach the main city centre of which Dam Square is the heart of in about ten minutes by bus 22 that runs on your street; it stops next to Amsterdam Centraal from where you can walk into the Red Light District too. The long list of shops, bars, restaurants, coffeeshops, museums and other fun activities in that area will have you entertained day or night. Another popular central area is by Leidse Square and you can get there with tram 10 in about fifteen minutes; the stop before the square is from where you can walk over to the Rijksmuseum in a short five minutes.
