This splendid Amsterdam holiday apartment is ready to accommodate a group of 4 and provide them with top comfort, excellent living conditions, and superb location.
The western dockland area is a bit of hideout. Although it is located virtually right next to the city centre, it will surely surprise you with its rather tranquil, ‘bedroom-like’ character. This is a perfect setting for the apartment you’ll be staying in, as it also combines two contrasting features – modernity of design one the one hand, and indoor tranquility on the other.
Inside the place you’ll find a daily area designed as a ‘three-in-one’ solution, because it combines a richly-supplied open-plan kitchen, a dining section consisting of a large dining table and a set of chairs, and a ‘lounge’ area, a chic coffee table, and a flatscreen TV for some home entertainment. Less is more.
There are also two separate – and beautifully finished – bedrooms to be taken advantage of. One of them is fitted with a double bed, while the other – with two single beds. The apartment comes complete with a fresh and tidy bathroom which offers a double sink, a shower cabin, a toilet, and a bathtub. Everything designed with your comfort in mind.
Not only is the western dockland area a perfect ‘city bedroom’ owing to its tranquility, but it also is a great place to look for some fine eating establishment (e.g. Bickers aan de Werf, Restaurant Marius, Restaurant PS) or to enjoy the view of the northern part of Amsterdam. And speaking of the latter, you will surely appreciate a visit to the EYE Film Institute found just across the IJ; you can take a ferry (free of charge) and get there in no time – and it is really worth it! And once you come back to the southern bank of IJ, you should definitely explore the surroundings – after all, the vicinities of Amsterdam Centraal are where you’ll find the majestic Oude Kerk, the busy Dam Square, the mysterious Begijnhof, and many other attractions scattered here and there, waiting for you to be discovered.
Yet, if you’d rather stay ashore and explore the nearer parts of the neighborhood, a trip along any of the three most famous ‘grachts’ – Prinsengracht, Keizersgracht, and Herengracht – is more than recommended. This way you’ll get to know the picturesque canal belt, and if you’re lucky enough, come across some local landmarks like the Houseboat Museum, Tulip Museum, or Anne Frank House.
