The benefit of staying here is that you can enjoy a quieter and more local experience but with the convenience of a number of tourist attractions being located nearby. The city centre is also only a short tram ride away. Right across the road is a popular museum called Tropenmuseum which makes for a great group outing and you can just pop back across the road and up the stairs to change or grab a bite to eat before going on your next outing. That next outing could be a walk over to the Dapper Market for a browse of the stalls, a stroll through Oosterpark or a visit to Artis Zoo to admire thousands of animals. Amsterdam is perfectly serviced by trams. There is a tram station only a two-minute walk away and tram 9 will take you to central station with a few great stops on the way at Rembrandt Square, the Bloemenmarkt (Flower Market) and Dam Square.
