Lotus South Apartment

Why not chose to stay in the beautiful Plantage district of Amsterdam in this stylish and modern 2-person Lotus South studio apartment.  It is designed for either a couple sharing or a single person provides a charming and practical an excellent and more individual alternative to staying in a hotel for either leisure of business travellers to the city.

Inside this newly refurbished apartment you will find a delightful studio space with a large window overlooking a quiet but central Amsterdam street at the front of an apartment building. The fitted kitchen means you have everything you need to prepare your own meals including 4 hot-plates, kettle and coffee machine plus a microwave oven and a fridge for storage. There is a cosy living area where you can relax and watch the flat screen TV which includes international channels.  There is also a DVD player provided. This room is well designed to include a comfortable double bed. We have also managed to fit in dining table for two persons suitable for meals or a surface for you to conduct any necessary business work. The bathroom is perfectly equipped with toilet, sink and a shower unit with two shower heads!  No need to worry about bringing towels with you on your holiday. We provide them for you! The bath linen we use is made of Fair-trade cotton. It is important to us to source only Fair-trade cotton towels as it is produced in a sustainable and ethical way without using any insecticides in developing countries. We believe that by paying an honest price to local farmers their working and living environment is gradually improved step by step.

Nestling in the leafy Plantage district of Amsterdam, the Lotus South Apartment is accessible easily by tram and bus but also only a 15 – 20 minute walk from Central Station.  Why not go on a hunt for the weird and wonderful at the extraordinary Waterlooplein Market where you can purchase just about anything from the latest fashions to books and unusual Dutch antiques. There’s always something there that will surprise you. Perfect for photo-opportunities! Nearby you can see many exotic plants in the huge hot-houses at the Botanical Gardens. Walk amongst the giant cacti and experience life in rain-forrest-like temperatures in these green and lush environments.  Also close-by you will find the amazing Artis Zoo – one of the oldest zoos in Europe with one of the most successful animal breeding programmes in the world. There is even a small petting area for children and adults to interact with the more native animals such as goats and chickens and a enchanting butterfly house where hundreds of butterflies flutter around you as you walk amongst the amongst the tropical plants. For something a bit more energetic why not hire bicycles and cycle down the Amstel river past windmills and beautiful countryside and visit the ancient town of Ouderkerk for a real alternative Dutch day out! The excellent public transport links to and from Central Station, the Plantage district and around the city make this an excellent location for business travelers and couples on short holidays.
