Several of the cities attractions are nearby including the old city zoo Artis, the Hollandsche Schouwburg, the Tropen Museum, the Hortus Botanicus (botanical gardens) and the only windmill in the centre of Amsterdam, De Gooyer, home to the IJ Brewery. There are some fantastic bars, cafés and restaurants to be found in the area and Rembrandt Square in the city centre is just 15 minutes away by tram.

We really enjoyed our stay.We particularly liked the space(but not the stairs!!)We thought a toaster would have been handy, but rest of the kitchen/equipment was good. The staff we met(he was)very helpful, polite and friendly. We loved the area and would like to visit again - perhaps a ground floor or first floor appartment would suit us better.
